Where is The White Oak located? 

The White Oak is located on 3.5 acres of beautifully shaded waterfront property 45 feet above Bogue Sound in Morehead City, North Carolina.

 

What are the General Amenities for the Property?

Along with the use of the 3.5-acre property and rental of two homes, we will also provide linen and towel service, on-call house manager for the duration of your stay, and a lawn bug spraying service prior to your event day. Have other special requests? Please never hesitate to ask your rental manager for assistance. For an additional fee, we are happy to coordinate a trash collection and dumpster rental, and on-site security officers as each pertain to your event needs. These services will be billed separately and handled directly by Kickstand Events.


How many people can The White Oak accommodate?

220 is comfortable for an event. Our on-site housing details are as follows:

“Glenn's Joy” (house 1) sleeps maximum of eight people. This house offers 3 bedrooms (one king bed, 2 queen beds, 1 pull-out sofa), with 3 full bathrooms and an outdoor shower.  

“Fleeta's Fancy” (house 2) sleeps six people. This house offers 2 bedrooms (1 queen bed, 2 twin bed) and a queen fouton mattress available, with 1.5 bathrooms and an additional outdoor shower.

What is your recommended minimum budget for hosting a wedding at this property?

Given the necessities of hosting an event that requires our couples to “bring in” each vendor, we strongly suggest that clients prepare their event around a $70,000 budget. This will allow for the flawless execution of our property’s full potential. 


How many weddings do you host a year to keep the property in prime condition? 

While we do not have a limit to the quantity of weddings we accept, we do evaluate each inquiry and consultation to ensure each event will be a proper fit. Budget, guest count, time of year, and overall vendor “wish list” is taken into consideration when determining the mutual selection of an event. We want to make sure that your event will be a success and that your overall experience here will be the perfect one! 


Are you available for my ideal wedding date?

Our availability is dependent upon the availability of the Kickstand Events production team, as they are a required aspect of each event.  The time of year you are hoping for, and the quantity of weddings already booked around your date are also elements that we take into consideration. We value the execution and pristine presentation of our property, therefore, we take all surrounding matters into consideration to ensure that your experience feels exclusive and well managed from start-to-finish. Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, but there will be an additional transaction fee charged for credit cards.  We accept cash, checks, and Apple Pay without penalty.  


What is the minimum rental period for an event?

We have a four-night minimum requirement for event hosting. Typically, this is Thursday-Monday rental to allow plenty of time between your ideal event day. The seven-day rental period is typically Monday-Monday. Extra nights may be accommodated at $500/night.


Is this a pet friendly site?  

Yes!  Pets are welcomed, but only one dog per house please.  

Are restrooms available on site for events?  

No.  For all weddings and special events you are required to provide portable restroom facilities.  Please check our list of local vendors, provided by Kickstand Events. 


When does my event need to end?

The noise ordinance in Morehead City is 11pm, so please coordinate the end of your event and music to respect this timeframe and our neighbors. With this in mind, we do encourage you to relax and enjoy the beautiful night setting of the property as long as you’d like after 11pm as you wind-down from the successful reception! Cheers!


Is guest parking available?  

Yes.  There is plenty of room on the property for parking, and street parking is allowed in the surrounding neighborhood. For valet parking service, please contact Kickstand Events for their available vendors.

Do I need insurance for my event at The White Oak?  

Yes.  The White Oak is fully insured, but we require that each client retain a one- day special event coverage.  Please check with your insurance provider.  


Is security required?  

No.  It is recommended, but not required.  You can hire off-duty police officers through the Town of Morehead City at a rate of $30/hour.


Does ‘The White Oak’ have exclusive arrangements with specific vendors?  

Yes.  Kickstand Events is our exclusive Wedding Event planner via their Joyride Full Service Design, Planning, and Coordination Package or the Tandem Partial Planning Package. They have contacts with exclusive vendors that can be provided to you upon booking.
